Check out "Health Wise" from one of our own

Check out a recent Health Wise article written by Rebecca Rugh-Web about how the food we eat can have significant impacts on our physical and mental health. Here is more from her regarding this month's Health Wise:

"As a school psychologist and a parent, I have become increasingly concerned about the rising rates of autism and emotional/behavioral difficulties in children. My own daughter's early developmental difficulties motivated me to research the effects of medical interventions and natural solutions to behavioral difficulties. With the assistance of a local functional medicine specialist, I discovered a world of research based, natural treatments as alternatives to the traditional approach of pharmacological treatment. These treatments greatly benefited my family, and my hope is to spread the good news that there are alternatives that are less known."

To read more about Rebecca's journey and alternatives to traditional medicine for emotional/behavioral difficulties, read her article written for our department's newsletter, Psych Speak, http://wsfcs.k12.nc.us/cms/lib/NC01001395/Centricity/Domain/47/November%202013.pdf
